WHAT: Media tour of the Highway 12-Jameson Canyon Widening Project in Napa and Solano Counties.  

Attendees will view latest construction progress involving 6-miles of major safety improvements on Highway 12 between the Napa Valley and the Solano I-80 Corridor.

WHEN: Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at 2 p.m.

WHERE: Caltrans Construction Office, 324 Campus Lane, Suite P, Fairfield, CA.

WHO: Caltrans Public Affairs and Construction staff.

WHY:  Caltrans and its project partners are widening Highway 12-Jameson Canyon from two to four lanes between Napa and Solano Counties. The work will also add a concrete wall along the 6-mile project route. Construction began in spring 2012 with completion scheduled as early as summer 2014. Tour includes on-site look at the project prior to a major traffic switch near the Napa/Solano County Line as major work nears completion. Attendees will get an up-close preview of traffic lane switch route, paving, and major excavation, and drainage work through the canyon.

The approximate one-and-a-half-hour tour will include a safety briefing prior to the construction site visit. Caltrans will provide hard hats, safety vests, and transportation from the office to the construction site. Please dress appropriately.
