Overnight Interchange Maintenance
Between State Route 4 and State Route 242
Starts Saturday, December 2 at 10:30 PM
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY— The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans)
has scheduled an overnight FULL closure of westbound and eastbound State Route 4
(SR-4) connectors to southbound State Route 242 (SR-242) in Concord to perform
major highway maintenance.
During the major maintenance effort, Caltrans crews will pave, crack seal, replace/repair
street lighting, and perform joint repair/lip grinding.
To ensure worker and public safety, southbound SR-242 will be CLOSED from the SR-
242/State Route 4 (SR-4) Interchange to the SR-242/Solano Way Interchange.
The closure starts Saturday December 2, 2017 at 10:30 PM and concludes on Sunday,
December 3, 2017 at 9:30 AM.
SR-242 Ramps CLOSED Overnight:
Southbound Olivera Road on-ramps to southbound SR-242
Detours will be posted. California Highway Patrol will be on site during night closure.
Motorists should expect delays and allow for extra travel time. All work is weather
dependent.
