FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
State Route 29-Channelization Project-Napa County
Overnight One-Way Traffic Controls
Start Monday, August 15
NAPA COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) and its local stakeholders are continuing construction of the State Route 29 (SR-29) Channelization Project in and near St. Helena in Napa County.
As part of the work, crews will start paving a section of SR-29 between Mee Lane and Charter Oak Drive on Monday, August 15 and be completed by Monday, August 22.
Although no full highway closures are scheduled at this time, motorists may experience delays as crews work to pave SR-29 with overnight one-way traffic controls.
During one-way traffic controls, one lane of SR-29 will remain open at all times with crews alternating closures on northbound and southbound SR-29 to allow one-lane of traffic to proceed at a time.
To ensure public and worker safety, one-way traffic controls will be in effect on SR-29 between Mee Lane and Charter Oak Drive each night Monday through Saturday starting Monday, August 15 until Monday, August 22. Work starts at 7:00 PM each night and concludes at 6:00AM the following mornings.
Once the overall project is completed in early-mid September, motorists will benefit from new left-turn pocket lanes and new shoulders on SR-29.
