New Solano County Interchange Link to Napa Valley
Westbound I-80 to Westbound SR-12 Connector
Opening to Traffic
Scheduled Saturday, August 27, 2016
SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) and its project partner the Solano Transportation Authority (STA) are scheduled to open the new westbound Interstate 80 (I-80) to westbound State Route 12 (SR-12) connector the morning of Saturday, August 27.
WB I-80 to WB SR-12 Improvements
The new connector improves safety and reduces congestion for motorists traveling between the busy I-80 Corridor in Solano County and SR-12 Jameson Canyon towards the Napa Valley. As part of the project, the new westbound I-80 onramp from Green Valley Road will also be opened on August 27.
Westbound I-80 Lane Shifts-Overnight Lane/Ramp Closures Start August 25
In preparation of the openings, overnight intermittent lane closures will be in effect on westbound I-80 at Green Valley Road on Thursday, August 25, Friday, August 26 and the early morning of Saturday, August 27. Intermittent closures on the westbound I-80 onramp from Green Valley Road will also be in effect.
The closures are scheduled each night Thursday and Friday starting at 8:00PM and will conclude at 5:00AM the following mornings. Motorists should expect delays.
Crews will shift traffic on westbound I-80 approaching the new WB I-80 to WB SR-12 connector structure. Once the traffic shift on I-80 is completed, the new connector will be opened to traffic in the early morning of Saturday, August 27.
Motorists are advised to drive with caution as the new lane configurations on westbound I-80 at Green Valley Road go into effect.
The new connector from westbound I-80 to westbound SR-12 is part of the first phase of the I-80/I-680/SR-12 Interchange Project.
