J-Mack Ferry
Morning Closure for Cable Replacement
Sunday, August 28, 2016 starting at 6:30 AM

SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will temporarily close the J-Mack Ferry in the Delta to replace the main underwater cable which the ferry runs on across Steamboat Slough between Ryer Island in Solano County and Sacramento County.

The J-Mack is scheduled to close starting Sunday, August 28 at 6:30 AM until 10:00 AM that same morning.

The J-Mack Ferry provides around the clock service on State Route 220.
During the closure, motorists are advised to use the Real McCoy Ferry, also known as the Cache Slough Ferry along State Route 84.

WB I-80 to WB SR-12 -Fairfield Nighttime Delays Start Aug 24

Expect Major Nighttime Delays
Crews Realign I-80 Approach Lanes
New Connector Opens Saturday, August 27, 2016

SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) and its project partner the Solano Transportation Authority (STA) are scheduled to open the new westbound Interstate 80 (I-80) to westbound State Route 12 (SR-12) connector Saturday, August 27. As part of the project, the new westbound I-80 onramp from Green Valley Road will also be opened.

Westbound I-80 Overnight Lane/Ramp Closures
In preparation of the openings, overnight intermittent lane closures will be in effect on westbound I-80 between Suisun Valley Road and Red Top Road on Wednesday, August 24, Thursday, August 25, Friday, August 26 and the morning of Saturday, August 27. Intermittent closures on the westbound I-80 onramp from Green Valley Road will also be in effect.

The lane closures are scheduled each night Wednesday and Thursday starting at 7:00PM until 6:00AM. Friday starting at 8:00PM until 8:00AM the following morning.

Crews will shift traffic on westbound I-80 approaching the new WB I-80 to WB SR-12 connector structure. Once the traffic shift on I-80 is completed, the new connector will be opened to traffic in the early morning of Saturday, August 27.

Westbound I-80-Overnight Intermittent Highway Closure
Wednesday, August 24 until morning of Saturday, August 27
All lanes of westbound I-80 approaching the SR-12 Interchange will be closed intermittently on Friday, August 26 starting at 8:00PM until 6:00AM Saturday, August 27. On Friday night, during the actual shifting of lanes, there will be a complete traffic stop between 11:00PM and 12:01AM Saturday which will last approximately 15-20 minutes. Motorists are advised to avoid westbound I-80 at Green Valley Road and use alternative routes.

Northbound I-680 to Westbound I-80 Connector
Overnight Closure and Detours
Wednesday, August 24 until morning of Saturday, August 27
The northbound I-680 to westbound I-80 connector will be closed nightly from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following mornings. Motorists will be detoured onto the Gold Hill Road offramp, then turn left to Gold Hill Road, then right to Lopes Road, then left to Red Top Road, then left onto the westbound I-80 onramp.

Wednesday, August 24 until morning of Saturday, August 27
The westbound I-80 onramp from Green Valley Road will be closed nightly starting at 11:00PM until 6:00AM the following mornings. Motorists will be detoured onto the new Green Valley overcrossing towards Lopes Road, then right to Red Top Road, then left onto westbound I-80.

Westbound I-80 to Westbound SR-12 Napa Connector
Overnight Closure and Detours
Wednesday, August 24 until morning of Saturday, august 27
The westbound I-80 to westbound SR-12 Napa Connector will be closed nights starting at 10:00 PM until 6:00 AM the following mornings. Motorists will be detoured onto the Red Top Road offramp, then turn left to Red Top Road, then left to westbound SR-12.

Eastbound I-80 to Southbound I-680 Connector
Overnight Closure and Detours
Thursday, August 25 until morning of Saturday, August 27
The eastbound I-80 to southbound I-680 connector will be closed nightly starting at 7:00 PM until 5:00 AM the following mornings. Motorists will be detoured onto southbound Lopes Road, then turn left to Gold Hill Road then enter the Southbound I-6780 onramp.

Motorists are advised to expect delays and drive with caution as the new lane configurations on westbound I-80 at Green Valley Road go into effect. All work is weather permitting.

The overnight closures will allow crews to prepare for the opening of the new westbound I-80 to westbound SR-12 connector.

During overnight work this week, crews will remove and reposition approximately 5,000 feet of concrete safety barriers along westbound I-80, restripe westbound I-80 lanes approaching the new I-80/SR-12 Interchange and install new reflective highway markers.

I-80 Carquinez Bridge Night Lane Reductions Aug 18-25

Nighttime Lane/Ramp Closures Scheduled for Interstate 80 (I-80) Carquinez Bridge –
August 18 through August 25

Crockett/Vallejo, Calif. – Caltrans is conducting work for a project to resurface Interstate 80 (I-80) across the Carquinez and Zampa Bridges between Crockett in Contra Costa County and Vallejo in Solano County.

The following closures will impact I-80 eastbound and westbound across the Carquinez and Zampa Bridges nightly:

• I-80 EB and WB will have lane reductions from Thursday August 18 at 8:00 PM until Friday August 19 at 5:00 AM.

• I-80 EB and WB will have lane reductions from Friday August 19 at 8:00 PM until Saturday August 20 at 6:00 AM. The off ramp from I-80 EB at Pomona Street in Crockett will be closed during the same time period, with signs directing motorists to detour at Cummings Skyway.

• I-80 EB and WB will have nightly lane reductions from Monday August 22 through Thursday August 25 from 8:00 PM until 5:00 AM the following day.

• The I-80 eastbound ramps at Pomona Street in Crockett may be closed intermittently for the same time periods. Motorists will detour to Cummings Skyway.

SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) and its project partner the Solano Transportation Authority (STA) are scheduled to open the new westbound Interstate 80 (I-80) to westbound State Route 12 (SR-12) connector the morning of Saturday, August 27.

WB I-80 to WB SR-12 Improvements
The new connector improves safety and reduces congestion for motorists traveling between the busy I-80 Corridor in Solano County and SR-12 Jameson Canyon towards the Napa Valley. As part of the project, the new westbound I-80 onramp from Green Valley Road will also be opened on August 27.

Westbound I-80 Lane Shifts-Overnight Lane/Ramp Closures Start August 25
In preparation of the openings, overnight intermittent lane closures will be in effect on westbound I-80 at Green Valley Road on Thursday, August 25, Friday, August 26 and the early morning of Saturday, August 27. Intermittent closures on the westbound I-80 onramp from Green Valley Road will also be in effect.

The closures are scheduled each night Thursday and Friday starting at 8:00PM and will conclude at 5:00AM the following mornings. Motorists should expect delays.

Crews will shift traffic on westbound I-80 approaching the new WB I-80 to WB SR-12 connector structure. Once the traffic shift on I-80 is completed, the new connector will be opened to traffic in the early morning of Saturday, August 27.

Motorists are advised to drive with caution as the new lane configurations on westbound I-80 at Green Valley Road go into effect.

The new connector from westbound I-80 to westbound SR-12 is part of the first phase of the I-80/I-680/SR-12 Interchange Project.

SR-29 Napa County-Overnight Paving Starts August 15

Overnight One-Way Traffic Controls
Start Monday, August 15

NAPA COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) and its local stakeholders are continuing construction of the State Route 29 (SR-29) Channelization Project in and near St. Helena in Napa County.

As part of the work, crews will start paving a section of SR-29 between Mee Lane and Charter Oak Drive on Monday, August 15 and be completed by Monday, August 22.

Although no full highway closures are scheduled at this time, motorists may experience delays as crews work to pave SR-29 with overnight one-way traffic controls.

During one-way traffic controls, one lane of SR-29 will remain open at all times with crews alternating closures on northbound and southbound SR-29 to allow one-lane of traffic to proceed at a time.

To ensure public and worker safety, one-way traffic controls will be in effect on SR-29 between Mee Lane and Charter Oak Drive each night Monday through Saturday starting Monday, August 15 until Monday, August 22. Work starts at 7:00 PM each night and concludes at 6:00AM the following mornings.

Once the overall project is completed in early-mid September, motorists will benefit from new left-turn pocket lanes and new shoulders on SR-29.

Overnight One-Way Traffic Controls Start Sunday, August 21

SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is scheduled to start a major pavement repair project on two-miles of State Route 12 (SR-12) in Rio Vista. The work will start on Sunday, August 21 and be completed by mid-October 2016.

Although no full highway closures are scheduled at this time, motorists may experience delays as crews work to repave SR-12 with overnight one-way traffic controls on SR-12.

During one-way traffic controls, one lane of SR-12 will remain open at all times with crews alternating closures on eastbound and westbound SR-12 to allow one-lane of traffic to proceed at a time.

To ensure public and worker safety, one-way traffic controls will be in effect on SR-12 between Drouin Drive and Summerset Road each night Sunday through Thursday starting Sunday, August 21. Work starts at 8:00PM each night and concludes at 6:00AM the following mornings.

One-way traffic controls are scheduled each night at 9:00PM until 5:00AM the next mornings.

Motorists should expect delays and allow for extra travel time. All work is weather permitting. Please slow for flaggers and construction crews.

Overnight Closure
Tuesday, August 2, 2016 starting at 10:00 PM

SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will close the J-Mack Ferry in the Delta overnight for routine preventive maintenance.

The J-Mack is scheduled to close starting Tuesday, August 2 at 10:00 PM until Wednesday, August 3 at 4:00 AM.

The J-Mack Ferry runs on a cable across Steamboat Slough between Ryer Island in Solano County and Sacramento County.

The J-Mack, provides around the clock service on State Route 220.
