FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Highway 12-Center Divider Work
Intermittent Closures Near Rio Vista Start October 31st
SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will begin replacing dozens of center divider posts called channelizers on Highway 12 between Rio Vista and Suisun City on Wednesday, October 31st. The work is scheduled to start Wednesday, October 31st and be completed Thursday, November 1st. Weather permitting, work will start each day at 8:30 a.m. and conclude at 4 p.m.
The work will replace dozens of channelizers that have become worn and damaged over time.
To ensure public and worker safety, intermittent closures of Highway 12 between Drouin Drive in Rio Vista and Walters Road in Suisun City are scheduled. Crews will close the highway in both directions for 10 minutes at a time then reopen the highway to release traffic. CHP will help direct motorists in both eastbound and westbound directions. Motorists should expect delays and allow for extra travel time.
Please drive cautiously through the construction zone and leave a safe traveling distance between your vehicle and the vehicle ahead of you. Caltrans appreciates your patience as we work to improve the highways.
