Caltrans and City of Vallejo Partner in Major Maintenance Effort
State Route 29/Sonoma Boulevard at Redwood Street
Lane Closures during Landscape & Litter Effort on Wednesday, December 2
SOLANO COUNTY – Caltrans and the City of Vallejo join forces in the latest phase of a key partnership to beautify main entrances and thoroughfares in Vallejo through the “Vallejo Interagency Partnership” (VIP) program.
The major landscaping maintenance and litter cleanup effort includes work on northbound and southbound State Route 29 (SR-29)/Sonoma Boulevard between Couch Street/Mississippi Street and Redwood Street. All work is weather permitting.
The major maintenance effort starts Wednesday, December 2 at 8:00 AM until 2:00 PM.
Crews from Caltrans and the City of Vallejo will trim-back overgrown shrubs, weed, mow, and clear-out trash, and debris along SR-29/Sonoma Boulevard.
Lane Closures on State Route 29/Sonoma Boulevard
To ensure worker and public safety, the far left lanes of northbound and southbound SR-29 between Couch Street/Mississippi and Redwood Street will be closed during the work. One traffic lane in each direction will remain open at all times.
Motorists headed onto eastbound Redwood Street from northbound SR-29/Sonoma Boulevard will also be detoured to Sereno Drive and Broadway, then back onto Redwood Street.
Detour signs will be posted. Please allow extra travel time and watch for crews working in medians and shoulders. We appreciate your patience as we work to maintain our highways.
