I-80 in Vallejo
Reduced Traffic Lanes During Overnight Work Continues
Week of Monday, September 24, 2018
SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is paving eastbound and westbound Interstate-80 (I-80) in Vallejo as part of a major pavement rehabilitation project.
The $5.8 million project is a Senate Bill (SB-1) funded project which enhances safety for motorists by paving all traffic lanes on eastbound and westbound I-80 between the Carquinez Bridge Toll Plaza and Redwood Street.
After the work is completed, motorists will benefit from a safer and smoother ride on I-80.
Work started Saturday, September 22 and will be completed as early as December 2018.
Carquinez Bridge Toll Plaza Lane Reductions Overnight
During this week’s work, crews will pave some traffic lanes at the eastbound I-80 Carquinez Toll Plaza.
Work hours are Monday, September 24 until Thursday, September 27 starting at 11:00 PM each night until 5:00 AM the following mornings.
To ensure worker and public safety, various toll lanes will be CLOSED overnight. At least one toll lane will remain OPEN at all times.
Overnight Lane Reductions on eastbound I-80 in Vallejo-Week of September 24, 2018
During this week’s phase of work, various lanes on eastbound I-80 will be closed during overnight paving work. There is no work scheduled on westbound I-80 this week.
Motorists should drive with caution through the construction zone and expect delays. One traffic lane of eastbound I-80 will remain open at all times.
The work will occur on eastbound I-80 between the Carquinez Bridge and the Redwood Street exit.
Lane reductions on eastbound I-80 will be in effect during overnight work which is scheduled each night Monday, September 24 until Thursday, September 27. Work starts each night at 11:00 PM until 5:00 AM the following mornings. All work is weather permitting.
Motorists should expect delays and allow extra travel time through the construction zone.
CHP will assist with directing traffic.
