Caltrans Anticipates Opening New Bridge to Traffic
By Friday, January 12, 2018
SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has completed a major portion of construction of the new Interstate-780 (I-780) Laurel Street Bridge and is now anticipating opening the new bridge to traffic by Friday, January 12, 2018. This is weather dependent.
The bridge is located over I-780 just east of Downtown Vallejo.
I-780 Laurel Street Bridge Project
Caltrans started construction of the new I-780 Laurel Street Bridge in June 2017. The new bridge replaces the old Laurel Street Bridge. The new bridge brings the bridge up to the latest seismic safety standards.
Laurel Street Detours Lifted-New Approach Lane Configurations
Motorists on Laurel Street should drive with caution as crews switch traffic lanes and remove temporary barricades and detour-related signage approaching the new bridge.
Caltrans will provide a more detailed date and time for the tentative bridge opening to traffic as soon as the information is available.
Caltrans thanks the community for its patience during construction of the new
I-780 Laurel Street Bridge.
