State Route 24-Caldecott Tunnel
Mandatory Emergency Response Drill
To Be Rescheduled in 2015
ALAMEDA and CONTRA COSTA COUNTIES – Due to the recent severe weather in the San Francisco Bay Area, the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has postponed the Mandatory Emergency Response Drill at the State Route 24 (SR-24) Caldecott Tunnel for the remainder of 2014.
Caltrans will strategize during the first part of January 2015 to select a date to include all of the coordinated participants, including the California Highway Patrol (CHP), local fire districts, and first responders.
Caltrans will notify the public when a new 2015 date is finalized.
Remember, use headlights with wipers. And, drive with caution when raining.
“Move over” for Caltrans crews working on the shoulders. It’s the law.
