MARIN SONOMA
NARROWS TO OPEN ADDITIONAL CARPOOL LANES
NOVATO
- Caltrans, the Transportation Authority of Marin, and the Metropolitan
Transportation Commission are pleased to announce that on Thursday morning,
November 14th, a new southbound US 101 HOV lane will open between De
Long Avenue and the Rowland Boulevard Overcrossing.
“Caltrans and our transportation partners continue to bring
much-needed improvements to the U.S. Route 101 corridor in the North Bay,” said
Caltrans District 4 Director Bijan Sartipi. “This project in Marin County will
help reduce travel delay and congestion, and will improve mobility along the
101 corridor.”
The approximately $4 million project was funded by Proposition 1B.
In 2006, California voters approved Proposition 1B, investing $19.9 billion in
roads, bridges, ports and transit. In total, nearly $17 billion ($16.6) in
Proposition 1B funds have been put to work statewide for transportation
purposes
