J-Mack Ferry Closed For Morning Maintenance
Underwater Cable Change on Sunday, November 4th, 2012  
SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will suspend service of the J-Mack Ferry Sunday morning to perform routine preventive maintenance. The J-Mack is scheduled to be closed Sunday morning, November 4th at 6 a.m. until 12 p.m.
Caltrans will be changing the underwater cable that guides the ferry. This is routine preventive maintenance which must be done periodically.
The J-Mack, also known as the Steamboat Slough Ferry, provides around the clock service on State Route 220 between Ryer Island in Solano County and Grand Island in Sacramento County.
During Sunday morning’s closure, motorists are advised to use the Real McCoy Ferry, also known as the Cache Slough Ferry along Highway 84.
