FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Interstate-80/Interstate-680/Highway 12 Interchange
Project-Fairfield
One-Way
Traffic Controls on Green Valley Road near I-80
Friday,
July 11 and Saturday, July 12
SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will place additional safety
barriers on Green Valley Road near Interstate 80 (I-80) as part of
the I-80/I-680/Highway 12
Interchange Project in Fairfield.
The work will require
one-way traffic controls at the following locations:
Green Valley Road (one-way traffic
controls):
One-way
traffic controls will be in effect on Green Valley Road between Lopes Road and
Business Center Drive starting Friday, July 11 at 8 p.m. until 4 a.m. on
Saturday, July 12.
During one-way traffic
controls, crews will alternate closures on northbound and southbound Green
Valley Road to allow one-lane of traffic to proceed at a time. One lane of traffic
will remain open at all times.
Motorists should also
watch for various overnight ramp closures with detours in the construction zone
near the Green Valley Road exit and I-80.
I-80/I-680/Highway-12 Project Improvements:
The work is in
preparation of the first construction package of the I-80/I-680/Highway-12
Interchange project. During
this first phase, a new Green Valley Road overcrossing will be constructed
above I-80 about 200 feet east of the existing overcrossing. The new
overcrossing will have twice the number of lanes (4) as the existing
overcrossing (2), along with a new on ramp to westbound I-80/Highway-12. The
connector ramp from westbound I-80 to Highway-12 also will be widened from one
lane to two lanes.
Please slow for flaggers
and allow for extra travel time. All work is weather permitting.
Caltrans appreciates your patience as we work to improve California’s
highways.
