NIGHT LANE CLOSURES THIS WEEK ON I880 IN CITY OF OAKLAND:
OAK AND WASHINGTON STREETS, POSEY/WEBSTER TUBE & WEBSTER ST. UNDERCROSSING AS MEDIAN BARRIER CONSTRUCTION BEGINS

HAYWARD – Caltrans will close the number 1 and 2 lanes of northbound Interstate 880 (I880) and the number 1 lane of southbound I880, tonight, Thursday, January 16, 2014, between the hours of 11 p.m. and 5 a.m., as crews begin construction to safely replace a freeway median barrier.

The Posey Tube closure will also take place tonight, from 10 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.; Webster St. undercrossing, and entrance to Webster Tube closure from 1:30 a.m. until 5 a.m. (Friday morning). Webster Place (and connecting parking lots) will be closed from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m.

Additional closures this week include:

·         Friday, Jan. 17: Number 1 and 2 southbound lanes of I880; the number 1 and 2 northbound lanes of I880 will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

No ramp closures are scheduled at this time.

Motorists should drive cautiously through all construction zone and leave a safe traveling distance between your vehicle and the vehicle ahead of you. Caltrans appreciates your patience as we work to improve the highways and remember to “Slow for the Cone Zone.”
