Solano Ramp Meter Project

Merchant Street-On-Ramp-Overnight Closures-Week of May 6th

SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), the Solano Transportation Authority (STA), and the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) are continuing work on the next phase of ramp meter activation in Solano County on westbound Interstate-80 (I-80) in Vacaville.

As part of the work, Caltrans is working closely with its project partners and PG&E to relocate a natural gas pipeline at the Merchant Street on-ramp onto westbound I-80.

For the safety of construction crews and motorists, the Merchant Street on-ramp onto westbound I-80 is scheduled to be closed overnight starting Tuesday, May 6^th. The ramp will be closed each night Tuesday, May 6^th, Wednesday May 7^th, and Thursday May 8^th at 8 p.m. and reopen the following mornings at 5 a.m.

Motorists should plan for extra travel time. All work is weather permitting.

Detour Information:

During the closure of the Merchant Street onramp to westbound I-80, motorists are advised to enter westbound I-80 from the nearby Davis Street/Hickory Lane onramp. Detour signs will be posted.

Interstate 80-Vacaville-Dixon Rehabilitation Project

Overnight Concrete Work Starts

SOLANO COUNTY- The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will begin cracking sections of concrete on eastbound and westbound Interstate 80 between Vacaville and Dixon starting Wednesday, June 5^th.  The work is part of the I-80 Vacaville-Dixon Rehabilitation Project. The process will allow crews to repave the old I-80 roadway allowing for a safer and smoother drive.   

Concrete work:

The work will require overnight cracking of concrete pavement with a mechanical hammer near rural areas but may also affect some residents and businesses along I-80 in Dixon and Vacaville. Construction noise will be unavoidable; however, it will be kept within approved construction noise levels. Overnight lane closures will be required.

The work is from the Meridian Road exit to the Highway 113 exit along eastbound and westbound I-80 in Solano County.

Overnight Work Schedule:

Work on eastbound I-80 is scheduled to start Wednesday, June 5^th until Wednesday, June 12^th each night starting at 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following mornings, except for Sunday nights. The eastbound work is scheduled for completion the morning of June 13^th.

Work on westbound I-80 is scheduled to start Thursday, June 13^th until Friday, June 19^th each night starting at 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following mornings, except for Sunday nights. The westbound work is slated for completion June 20^th at 5 a.m.

Over time, the roadway has deteriorated requiring complete rehabilitation. Night work will minimize traffic delays on I-80 during the busy morning and afternoon commute times. It will also allow crews to complete work without impacting daytime traffic.

Interstate 80-Concrete Slab Replacement

Overnight Solano Ramp Closures Start Sunday

SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will be

repairing sections of roadway on Interstate 80 in Fairfield and Vacaville  starting Sunday night. The work involves replacing concrete slabs. It starts Sunday, April 21^st at 7 p.m. and concludes Thursday, April 25^th at 5 a.m. 

Fairfield Overnight Ramp Closures-Sunday at 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. Monday

To ensure worker and public safety, the following ramp closures with detours will be in effect starting Sunday, April 21^st at 7 p.m. and conclude on Monday, April 22^nd at 5 a.m.

Closing-westbound Travis Blvd to westbound I-80 on ramp

Motorists are advised to: continue westbound on Travis, then turn Left on Oliver, then left on Holiday, then Right on Travis blvd to the W/B 80 on ramp.

Closing-westbound I-80 Oliver/Travis blvd off ramp

Motorists are advised to: continue W/B 80 to Abernathy/Suisun Valley pkwy off ramp, turn left at the end of the ramp, then turn left onto the E/B 80 on ramp back to W. Texas st off ramp.

Closing:  westbound I-80 W. Texas on ramp

Motorists are advised to:  head E/B Rockville rd, traffic will then turn right onto Beck ave, turn, then right onto HWY 12 taking the transition ramp to W/B 80.

               

Vacaville Overnight Ramp Closures-Monday, Tuesday, Wed starting at 7 p.m.

The following ramp closures will start Monday, April 22nd at 7 p.m. and reopen Wed, April 24th at 5 a.m. Closures will be in effect Mon, Tue and Wed starting at 7 p.m. each night and ending the following mornings at 5 a.m. 

Closing: westbound I-80 Cherry Glen/Lagoon Valley off ramp

Motorists are advised to: continue west on I-80 to N. Texas st/Manual Campos offramp, then turn left at the end of the ramp, then turn left on to the E/B 80 on ramp back to E/B 80 Cherry Glen/Lagoon Valley off ramp.

Overnight Lane Closures Monday Night

SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will be working overnight on Monday, April 1st to trim oleanders inside the median in preparation of a major paving project on eastbound and westbound Interstate 80 (I-80)  between Vacaville and Dixon.

I-80 Westbound Lane Closures

To ensure worker and public safety, the #1 lane/far left lane of westbound I-80 between Curry Road in Dixon and Midway Road in Vacaville will be closed. The closure begins Monday, April 1^st at 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2^nd.

I-80 Eastbound Lane Closures

In the eastbound direction, the #1 lane/far left lane of eastbound I-80 between Midway Road in Vacaville and Curry Road in Dixon will be closed. That closure begins Monday, April 1^st at 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2^nd. All work is weather permitting.  Caltrans will install changeable message signs and motorists should allow for extra travel time.                        

Pave 80 Completion

Monday’s median work is in preparation for the I-80 Vacaville-Dixon Rehabilitation project slated to start in mid-April and be completed in 2014. As part of that project, Caltrans will pave and rehabilitate about 8 miles of westbound and eastbound I-80 between Vacaville and Dixon. The Rehabilitation project will also include ramp and shoulder reconstruction along the busy I-80 corridor in Northern Solano County. The rehab project will complete the final leg of the Pave 80 Project which involved paving        I-80 from the Bay Area to the Nevada-California state line.
