I-780 Overnight Closures at Laurel Street in Vallejo Start Friday, Sept 29 at 10PM

Laurel Street at I-780-Vallejo
I-780 Full Highway Overnight Closures
Bridge Deck Work
Start Friday, September 29, 2017 at 10:00 PM

SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will continue bridge deck work as the new Laurel Street Bridge above Interstate-780 (I-780) takes shape.

The old Laurel Street Bridge was demolished in June 2017 and is currently being rebuilt above westbound and eastbound I-780 in Vallejo.
The new Laurel Street Bridge will be constructed to bring the bridge up to the latest seismic safety standards. Construction of the new bridge will be
completed as early as November 2017.

Westbound I-780 Overnight Closure
Starts Friday, September 29 at 10:00 PM

To ensure worker and public safety, westbound I-780 at Laurel Street will be closed on Friday, September 29 starting at 10:00 PM until 7:00 AM on Saturday, September 30.

Eastbound I-780 Overnight Closure
Starts Saturday, September 30 at 12:01 AM

Eastbound I-780 will be closed at Laurel Street on Saturday, September 30 starting at 12:01 AM until 7:00 AM that same morning.
Detour signs will be posted. Motorists should expect delays. The CHP will assist with traffic controls. All work is weather dependent.

Detours-Westbound I-780 to westbound/eastbound I-80, Curtola Parkway
Motorists traveling on westbound I-780 (from Benicia to Vallejo) will be detoured to exit I-780 at Glen Cove Road. Then proceed right onto northbound Glen Cove Road, left onto westbound Benicia Road, stay on Benicia Road for approximately 1½ miles, continue on westbound Benicia Road over the I-80/Benicia Road overcrossing, left onto southbound Lemon Street/ Motorists will then have the option to travel either right on westbound Curtola Parkway (towards Downtown Vallejo), or turn left onto eastbound Curtola Parkway to enter either westbound I-80 or eastbound I-80.

Detours-Eastbound Curtola Parkway to Eastbound I-780
Motorists traveling onto eastbound I-780 (from Downtown Vallejo to Benicia) will be detoured onto the exit loop off-ramp to eastbound I-80 from Curtola Parkway, stay left, then maintain the left lane toward the Frontage Road exit, right onto Lincoln Road East, then at the stop sign make an immediate left onto eastbound Benicia Road, continue on Benicia Road for approximately one-mile, right onto southbound Glen Cove Road and enter eastbound I-780 from Glen Cove Road.

Westbound and Eastbound I-80 to Eastbound I-780
Motorists traveling onto eastbound I-780 from westbound I-80 are advised to exit I-80 onto eastbound Benicia Road, southbound Glen Cove Road and enter eastbound I-780 from Glen Cove Road.

Laurel Street Bridge Closure-Long-Term Closure
Laurel Street above I-780 will remain closed continuously until construction of the new bridge is completed. Local detours are in effect.

Westbound Interstate 780 at Laurel Street-Vallejo
Overnight Full Highway Closure
Starts 10:00 PM Tuesday, May 9, 2017
Prep Work for Upcoming Bridge Demolition

SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will begin installing concrete safety barriers on eastbound and westbound Interstate-780 (I-780) in Vallejo as part of the I-780 Laurel Street Bridge Project.

The long-term project will demolish and rebuild the I-780 Laurel Street Bridge over a period of approximately eight months.
This preliminary work in preparation of bridge demolition is scheduled to start Tuesday, the night of Tuesday, May 9, 2017. All work is weather permitting.

Westbound I-780 Overnight Closure- Tuesday May 9
Detour Starts at Glen Cove Road
To ensure public and worker safety, a full overnight closure of westbound I-780 between Glen Cove Road and the I-80/I-780 Interchange will be in effect Tuesday, May 9 at 10:00 PM until Wednesday, May 10 at 5:00 AM.

Motorists traveling on westbound I-780 (from Benicia to Vallejo) will exit westbound
I-780 at Glen Cove Road, proceed on northbound Glen Cove Road, westbound Benicia Road, southbound Lemon Street and onto Curtola Parkway where motorists can either enter westbound or eastbound I-80 or proceed westbound on Curtola Parkway towards Downtown Vallejo.

Detour signs will be posted. CHP will assist with traffic controls.

Eastbound I-780 Lane Reductions
One of two lanes of eastbound I-780 between Glen Cove Road and the I-780/I-80 Interchange will be closed on two consecutive nights Tuesday, May 9 and Wednesday May 10 starting each night at 9:00 PM until 5:00 AM the following mornings. One lane of eastbound I-780 will remain open at all times.

Eastbound and Westbound I-80 to Eastbound I-780 Connector Closure:
The connectors from eastbound and westbound Interstate-80 (I-80) to eastbound I-780 will be closed Tuesday, May 9 at 10:00 PM until Wednesday, May 10 at 5:00 AM. Motorists traveling from westbound and eastbound I-80 to eastbound I-780 (from Vallejo to Benicia) will be detoured to eastbound Benicia Road, southbound Glen Cove Road and enter eastbound I-780 from Glen Cove Road. Detour signs will be posted.

I-680 and I-780-Vallejo and Benicia
Lane and Ramp Closures-Week of February 22, 2016

SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform pavement survey work and major maintenance at various locations on Interstate 680 (I-680) and Interstate 780 (I-780) in Benicia and Vallejo.

The work starts at 9:00 AM and concludes at 2:00 PM each day. All work is weather permitting.

Tuesday, February 23-Lane Closed-I-680 Benicia:
Caltrans will perform asphalt testing on I-680 between Parish and Marshview Roads.

To ensure public and worker safety, crews will alternate closures of one of two lanes on northbound I-680 followed by closure of one of two lanes on southbound I-680.

Wednesday, February 24-Alternating Lane Closure-I-680/I-780 Connector Benicia:
One of two lanes on the northbound I-680 connector to westbound I-780 up to East 5th Street will be closed on Wednesday, February 24 for landscape work and litter removal.

Thursday, February 25-East 2nd Street Onramp Closed Benicia:
The onramp from East 2nd Street to eastbound I-780 in Benicia will be closed on February 25 for landscape work and litter removal.

Motorists headed onto eastbound I-780 from southbound East 2nd Street will be detoured to Military Road East, then East 5th Street and onto eastbound I-780. Motorists headed onto eastbound I-780 from northbound East 2nd Street will be detoured to westbound I-780, then to Southampton Road and onto eastbound I-780.

Crews will also perform landscape and litter removal on the shoulders of eastbound and westbound I-780 near the Vallejo/Benicia city limit February 22 and February 23.

Interstate 780 – Major Pavement Repair Project

SOLANO COUNTY – Caltrans continues a major pavement repair project on Interstate 780 (I-780) in Solano County. The work includes overlay and major pavement repair of seven miles of westbound and eastbound I-780 between Benicia and Vallejo.

Although no full highway closures are scheduled at this time, motorists may experience delays as crews work on I-780 with intermittent, overnight, alternating ramp and lane closures. Specific ramp closure and detour signs will be posted. All work is weather permitting. Project will be completed as early as November 2015.

I-780 Construction – Friday, August 28 until Saturday, September 5
Starting Friday August 28 until Saturday September 5 crews are scheduled to perform drainage work on various sections of the project on I-780. To ensure worker and public safety, one of the two traffic lanes on eastbound I-780 and one of the two traffic lanes on westbound I-780 between Benicia and Vallejo will be closed nightly, Mondays through Fridays from 9:00 PM until 6:00 AM the following mornings.

I-780 Overcrossing Work – Alternating Lane Closures
Crews will also perform joint seal replacement work at the following locations:

Rose Drive I-780 Overcrossing, Benicia
August 31 at 9:00PM until 6:00 AM the following morning.

Glen Cove Road I-780 Overcrossing, Vallejo
September 1 and September 2 starting at 9:00PM until 6:00 AM the following mornings.

The overcrossing work requires overnight alternating one-way traffic controls. At least one lane across the overcrossings will remain open at all times. Watch for flaggers. Motorists may experience delays.

I-780 Construction - Wednesday July 29 until Saturday August 8
Starting Wednesday July 29 until Saturday August 8 crews are scheduled to perform roadway crack sealing repair in preparation of overlay paving. Work will occur on eastbound and westbound I-780 nightly, Mondays through Fridays, between Benicia and Vallejo.

To ensure worker and public safety, one of the two traffic lanes on eastbound I-780 and one of the two traffic lanes on westbound I-780 between Benicia and Vallejo will be closed nightly, Mondays through Fridays from 9:00 PM until 6:00 AM the following mornings.

Motorist should drive with caution through the work zone.
