SB-1 Funded Pavement Improvements
I-80 in Vallejo Between Carquinez Bridge and Redwood Street
Work Scheduled to Resume Wednesday, October 3, 2018 Weather Permitting
Lane Reductions on Eastbound I-80 Overnight
SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will resume paving eastbound Interstate-80 (I-80) in Vallejo as part of a major pavement rehabilitation project on Wednesday, October 3, weather permitting.
The work scheduled for Tuesday, October 2 has been canceled due to the wet weather.
The $5.8 million project is a Senate Bill (SB-1) funded project which enhances safety for motorists by paving all traffic lanes on eastbound and westbound I-80 between the Carquinez Bridge Toll Plaza and Redwood Street.
Work will be completed as early as December 2018. All work is weather permitting.
Toll Plaza Lanes Reductions and I-80 Reduced Lanes Overnights Tuesday, Oct 2-Saturday, Oct 6, 2018
During the week starting Wednesday, October 3, 2018, crews will pave various traffic lanes at the Carquinez Bridge Toll Plaza and pave eastbound I-80 lanes between the Carquinez Bridge and Redwood Street.
To ensure worker and public safety, various toll lanes and some traffic lanes on eastbound I-80 will be closed during the overnight work.
Work is scheduled Wednesday, October 3 until Thursday, October 4 starting at 11:00 PM each night until 5:00 AM the following mornings.
Wide Loads Not Permitted Through the Toll Plaza on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 starting at 11:00 PM until 5:00 AM on Thursday, October 4. The toll lane for wide loads will be CLOSED during that night of work.
During the weekend starting October 5, work is scheduled Friday, October 5 at 11:59 PM until Saturday, October 6 at 7:00 AM.
Work is scheduled Saturday, October 6 at 11:59 PM until Sunday October 7 at 8:00 AM.
Work is also scheduled Sunday, October 7 at 11:00 PM until 5:00 AM on Monday, October 8.
Motorists should expect delays and allow extra travel time through the construction zone.
