State Route - 1 Full Highway Closure near
Marin/Sonoma Countyline
Starts Tuesday, August 14, 2018
Expect Delays
Marin County – Caltrans District 4 (Oakland) has scheduled a full highway closure of State Route 1 (SR-1) in Marin County just north of the Marin/Sonoma Countyline. SR-1 will be closed between Valley Ford Road to the north and Tomales Petaluma Road to the south. The closure is scheduled on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 starting at 7:00 AM until 5:00 PM.
During the closure, crews will pour concrete on a section of bridge deck as they continue construction of the new Estero-Americano Bridge on SR-1 in Marin County. This new bridge is being built with an improved height clearance as the old bridge was prone to flooding from the creek below.
Motorists will be detoured onto Tomales/Petaluma Road and Valley Ford Road and back onto SR-1.
Motorists are advised to expect delays and encouraged to take alternate routes if necessary and also that traffic fines are doubled in construction zones.
Bicyclist will be detoured onto Whitaker Bluff Road and Middle Road.
