Full Closure on State Route 61 Northbound/Southbound
At Bay Farm Island Bridge in Oakland/Alameda
July 5 – July 9, 2018
OAKLAND/ALAMEDA, Alameda County – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will conduct nightly full closures of State Route 61 (SR-61), Bay Farm Island Bridge starting Thursday night July 5, 2018, through Monday morning July 9, 2018. The work will include scheduled painting and maintenance.
Closure schedule is as follows:
Thursday night 07/05/2018 from 11:00PM to Friday morning 5:00AM
Friday night 07/06/2018 from 12:00 midnight to Saturday morning 7:00AM
Saturday night 07/07/2018 from 12:00 midnight to Sunday morning 7:00AM
Sunday night 07/08/2018 from 11:00PM to Monday morning 5:00AM
Detour Details of the closures are as follows:
• NB SR-61 Bay Farm Island Bridge: traffic traveling NB on SR-61 Doolittle Drive turn left on Hegenberger Road; enter NB I-880 on-ramp and exit at High Street off-ramp; left on High Street; right on Howard Street; left on Alameda Avenue; left on Fruitvale Avenue; Left on Broadway; and left on Otis Drive
• SB SR-61 Bay Farm Island Bridge: traffic traveling SB on Otis Drive turn left on Broadway; right on Tilden Way; travel on Tilden Way/Fruitvale Avenue; right on Alameda Avenue; right on Howard Street; left on High Street; right on Oakport Street; enter SB I-880 on-ramp and exit at Hegenberger Road off-ramp; right on Doolittle Drive
• Traffic from SB Fernside Boulevard: right on Otis Drive; right on Broadway; right on Tilden Way; travel on Tilden Way/Fruitvale Avenue; right on Alameda Avenue; right on Howard Street; left on High Street; right Oakport Street; enter SB I-880 on-ramp and exit at Hegenberger Road off-ramp; right on Hegenberger Road; right on NB SR-61 Doolittle Drive
Advance warning changeable message signs, detour signs and construction crew flaggers will be in place to assist motorists traveling in the area.
This work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if necessary. Motorists are advised to expect delays and allow extra time for their commute. Please drive with caution through the construction zone, leave a safe traveling distance between your vehicle and the vehicle ahead of you, and Slow for the Cone Zone.
California Highway Patrol will be on site during night closures.
