Due to Pavement Repair
Starts Monday, April 30, 2018
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY— The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is starting a long-term project to pave and repair approximately 10-miles of eastbound and westbound Interstate-80 (I-80) through Contra Costa County.
Once completed, the project will preserve and extend the life of the existing pavement and provide a smoother ride for motorists traveling on I-80 between the I-80/ State Route-4 (SR-4) interchange in Hercules and the Alameda/Contra Costa countyline near the Albany exit.
The overnight pavement repair work will start Monday, April 30, 2018 and will be completed as early as November 2018. The April/May 2018 portion of the work will start on I-80 in Richmond.
I-80 will remain open during the overnight work.
However, to ensure worker and public safety, various overnight intermittent lane closures on eastbound and westbound I-80 are scheduled starting Monday, April 30 until November 2018.
The lane closures are scheduled each night Monday through Friday starting at 8:30 PM each night until 4:30 AM the following mornings.
CHP will help direct motorists. Please drive with caution through the construction zone, allow for extra time and expect delays . All work is weather dependent.
