State Route 220-J-Mack Ferry
Temporary Daytime Closure
Crews Change Underwater Cable
Tuesday, December 19, 2017 starting at 8:30 AM
SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will temporarily close the J-Mack Ferry on State Route 220 (SR-220) in the Delta to change the underwater cable the ferry runs on.
The J-Mack Ferry is scheduled to close starting Tuesday, December 19 at 8:30 AM until 1:00 PM that same day due to necessary repairs which include changing the boat’s underwater cable which needs to be performed during daylight hours.
The J-Mack Ferry runs on a cable across Steamboat Slough between Ryer Island in Solano County and Sacramento County.
The J-Mack, provides around the clock service on SR-220.
During the closure, motorists are advised to use the Real McCoy Ferry, also known as the Cache Slough Ferry along State Route 84 (SR-84) of the Miner Slough Bridge on SR-84.
