One-Way Traffic Controls-Preventive Maintenance
Expect Nighttime Delays
Friday June 30, 2017

SOLANO AND SACRAMENTO COUNTIES – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform preventive maintenance on the bridge deck of the Rio Vista Bridge on State Route 12 (SR-12) between Solano and Sacramento Counties.

The work is scheduled, Friday, June 30, 2017 starting at 7:00 PM and will be completed by 3:00 AM on Saturday, July 1, 2017. All work is weather permitting.

To ensure public and worker safety, one-way traffic controls will be in effect. Crews will alternate lane closures in both eastbound and westbound directions. This will allow one lane on the bridge to remain open during the work. Flaggers will help direct traffic.
Motorists should expect delays and allow for extra travel time.

Advance Notice Required to Boats and Ships
For boat and ship traffic along the Sacramento River, vessels are required to give Caltrans Staff at the Rio Vista Bridge one-hour advance notice for an opening of the bridge during the work.

Watch for New Traffic Configuration

NAPA COUNTY– The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) working closely with the City of Napa will have a new traffic configuration in effect on eastbound Trancas Street approaching southbound State Route 121 (SR-121) in Napa.

Starting the morning of Wednesday, June 21, 2017, the dedicated right turn lane from eastbound Trancas Street to southbound SR-121 in Napa will be closed until further notice.

However, Southbound SR-121 from Trancas Street will continue to be open to local residents only. The new traffic configuration is necessary for worker and public safety.

The new traffic configuration will be in effect until the completion of the construction of a new Sarco Creek Bridge on SR-121. SR-121 at Sarco Creek Bridge remains closed as crews prepare to demolish and rebuild the bridge.

J-Mack Ferry-Underwater Cable Replacement
Weekend Morning Closure
Saturday, June 10, 2017 starting at 4:00 AM

SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will temporarily close the J-Mack Ferry on State Route 220 (SR-220) in the Delta early Saturday morning to replace the underwater cable which the ferry runs on.

The J-Mack is scheduled to close starting Saturday, June 10 at 4:00 AM until 12:00 PM that same day.

The J-Mack Ferry runs on a cable across Steamboat Slough between Ryer Island in Solano County and Sacramento County.

The J-Mack, provides around the clock service on SR-220.

During the closure, motorists are advised to use the Real McCoy Ferry, also known as the Cache Slough Ferry along State Route 84.

SOLANO COUNTY– The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has scheduled an overnight closure of the Real McCoy Ferry on State Route (SR-84) to perform regular preventive maintenance.
The closure is scheduled starting Thursday, June 8 at 10:15 PM until Friday, June 9 at 5:00 AM.

During the overnight closure of the Real McCoy Ferry, motorists traveling overnight between Ryer Island and Solano and Sacramento Counties are advised to use either the J-Mack Ferry on State Route 220 (SR-220) or the Miner Slough Bridge on SR-84 as a detour.

SR-121 Sarco Creek Bridge in Napa-Long-Term Bridge Closure Starts June 14, 2017

Long-Term Bridge and Highway Closure

Upcoming Bridge Demolition

NAPA COUNTY– The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will close the Sarco Creek Bridge on State Route 121 (SR-121) in Napa for approximately six months as crews demolish and rebuild the bridge at the same site.

The bridge will be closed starting Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at 10:00 AM.

After June 14, northbound and southbound SR-121 at the Sarco Creek Bridge will be closed continuously until the new bridge is built and opened to traffic.

The bridge is located on SR-121 between Hagen Road and Trancas Street in Napa County near the Napa City Limit. The bridge was originally scheduled to be closed the week of June 5, 2017 but will now be closed starting June 14, 2017.

A new bridge will replace the existing bridge which has been scoured and is in need of replacement.

Detour Route-Northbound SR-121 At Sarco Creek Bridge
During construction of the new Sarco Creek Bridge, motorists traveling on northbound SR-29 towards Yountville or Lake Berryessa (via SR-221 and SR-121) will be detoured at the SR-29/State Route-221 (SR-221) Interchange. From the SR-29/SR-221 Interchange, motorists will be detoured onto northbound SR-29, to eastbound Trancas Street then re-enter northbound SR-121 from Trancas Street.

Detour Route-Southbound SR-121 At Sarco Creek Bridge
During construction, motorists traveling on southbound SR-121 towards Vallejo and San Francisco will be detoured at Trancas Street. Motorists will travel westbound on Trancas Street, southbound on SR-29 and continue on southbound SR-29 towards Vallejo and San Francisco.

*Northbound SR-121 between Hagen Road and Sarco Creek Bridge will remain open to local traffic only. Southbound SR-121 between Rose Drive and Trancas Street will remain open to local traffic only.

Motorists traveling locally on SR-121 (Silverado Trail) to reach homes and businesses between Hagen Road and Rose Drive are advised to travel cautiously in and near the construction zone.

All work is weather dependent. Motorists should expect delays and watch for detour signs and flaggers. The CHP will assist with traffic control.

Construction Zone Activity
Residents and businesses near the bridge may temporarily experience increased noise and some dust during demolition and construction.
