Phase Three of U.S. 101/Broadway Interchance
Watch for Temporary Ramp and Lane Configuration Changes
Starts March 4-6, 2016

SAN MATEO COUNTY-Caltrans will begin Phase 3 of the 101/Broadway Interchange Project.

Beginning on the weekend of March 4-6, 2016 between the hours of 9:00 PM and 5:00 AM, the intersection of Broadway and Rollins Road will close to switch traffic from the existing Broadway Overcrossing to the new Broadway Overcrossing.

The existing bridge will be demolished shortly after tra c has been switched over to the new structure.

The demolition of the bridge must be done during night-time hours to allow for full-highway closures of U.S. Highway 101 on two consecutive weekends.

Route 101 southbound will close Saturday and Sunday mornings between1:00 AM
and 7:00 AM, March 12–13. Route 101 northbound will close Saturday and Sunday mornings between 12:00 AM and 6:00 AM, March 19–20.

Traffic will be detoured onto local streets (detours will be clearly marked). Various lane and ramp closures will also be necessary for this work.

Changeable message signs will be posted to notify motorists of the
upcoming closure.

The temporary traffic configuration will be in effect for approximately 10 months. Motorists should expect significant delays and are encouraged to consider alternate routes during this construction.

NOTE: The Bridge will be demolished with heavy equipment. Local residents and businesses may
experience increased noise levels. This construction work is weather dependent.
