Project
Continuation of Full
Freeway Closures Interstate 580/80
ALAMEDA, CA – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans)
will
continue full nighttime closures from
westbound Interstate 80 to eastbound Interstate 580, and westbound Interstate
580 to eastbound Interstate 80 connectors. Construction will be ongoing until the end of August. These closures
are necessary to repair the damaged bridge deck and place a concrete overlay
over all lanes of the distribution structure.
Construction on westbound Interstate 80 to Eastbound
Interstate 580 connector will be from May 27 through June 28, 2014 (Full
Closure). Construction on westbound Interstate 580 to
eastbound Interstate 80 connector will be from June 3 through June 31, 2014

Full Closure Detour
Detour
for westbound Interstate 580 to Eastbound Interstate 80 motorist will continue to
westbound Interstate 80 towards San Francisco, take “PARKING LOT EXIT ONLY”
exit on the left to the Toll Plaza parking lot, and merge onto eastbound Interstate
80.
Detour
for Interstate 580 west MacArthur on-ramp traffic will turn right on San Pablo
Avenue (alternatively turn right on Hollis St), turn left on Powell St and
merge onto Interstate 80 east.
Detour
for westbound Interstate 80 motorist will continue to Interstate 880 south,
exit at the West Grand Avenue off-ramp, turn right on West Grand Avenue and
merge to Interstate 580 east Maritime/West Grand on-ramp.
Detour
for Interstate 580 east MacArthur off-ramp traffic will take the next exit to
Webster St.
Motorists should expect delays during full freeway closure hours and are advised to use alternative routes if possible. Additional
