FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Highway 160 Closures for Three Mile Slough Bridge
Work Cancelled
This Week
SACRAMENTO COUNTY – The threat of
more wet weather has prompted the cancellation of overnight closures this
week on State Highway 160 between Rio Vista and Antioch, the California Department of
Transportation (Caltrans)
announced today. Three Mile Slough Bridge will be
open
until at
least Saturday, March 8.
Work started
February 3 on the $2.98 million
project at Three Mile Slough Bridge to replace the bridge deck and rehabilitate
the control house. The contractor has been authorized for up to 55 consecutive
nights of closures to complete the work. Caltrans advises local motorists and
residents to follow us on social media for the latest schedule updates.
The highway is
scheduled to be closed nightly from 8
p.m. to 5 a.m. at
Wilbur Avenue, south of
the
Antioch Toll Bridge, and at the junction with State Highway 12
in Rio Vista, weather permitting. Roadside message
boards will be used to
alert
motorists of
the closures and signed detours will be
in place, but some motorists may need to drive as much as an additional 80 miles, or about two extra hours, to reach their destination.
