Westbound State Route 37 Closed Due to Flooding
Emergency Repair Update
Reopening Could be as Early as Wednesday, February 20 at Noon

Marin County – Caltrans is continuing work to reopen the westbound lanes of State Route 37 (SR-37) in Marin County. The aim is to reopen westbound SR-37 possibly in time for the afternoon commute on Wednesday, February 20.

“Highway 37 is a vital link for thousands of people in the Bay Area,” said Caltrans District 4 Director Tony Tavares. “Caltrans is focused on reopening the highway as soon as possible after the water subsides and levee and highway repairs are completed.”

Westbound SR-37 was completely closed on Friday, February 15 and remains closed in Novato between Lakeville Highway and U.S. 101 due to flooding caused by a breach in nearby levees.

At least one lane of eastbound SR-37 remains open as of 4:30 PM February 19.

Changeable message signs and directional signs will be in place to assist motorists in the area.

Motorists are advised to expect delays and allow extra time for their commute.
