Full Highway Closure Northbound Interstate 880 at
23rd Avenue in Oakland
October 30 – November 4

Oakland/Alameda, Alameda County – Caltrans will conduct a nightly full highway closure on Northbound Interstate 880 (I-880) at 23rd Avenue in Oakland, Alameda County on Tuesday October 30 from 11:59 PM until 5:00 AM Friday November 2 and Saturday November 3 from 2:00 AM until 6:00 AM, to remove temporary support of the new 23rd Avenue bridge, which is tentatively scheduled to open on November 5.

Detour Details:
• Detours for Northbound I-880: Exit 23rd Avenue, follow the detour along 23rd Ave and enter the I-880 on-ramp on the left at E.11th Street.
Closure Information
• Tuesday (10/30): 11:59 PM until 5:00 AM Wednesday October 31
• Wednesday (10/31 – Warrior’s Game): 11:59 PM until 5:00 AM Thursday November 1
• Thursday (11/01): 11:59 PM until 5:00 AM Friday November 2
• Saturday (11/03): 2:00 AM until 6:00 AM November 3

Traffic Controls Measures:
Changeable message signs, directional signs and construction crew flaggers will be in place to assist motorists traveling in the area. This work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if necessary. Motorists are advised to expect delays and allow extra time for their commute. Please drive with caution through the construction zone. Slow for the Cone Zone.
