Caltrans Has Completed Accelerated Repairs to State Route 113 in Solano County Due to SB 1 Funds
Completed Pavement Project Repaired Three Lane Miles, Providing a Safer, Smoother Drive for Motorists

SOLANO COUNTY — Caltrans has completed pavement work on three lane miles of State Route 113 in Solano County, due to the funds from Senate Bill 1 (SB 1), the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017.

“The completion of this pavement improvement project supports Caltrans’ mission to maintain our state’s transportation system,” said Caltrans Director Laurie Berman. “Motorists traveling between Dixon and Rio Vista will benefit from a safer, smoother drive.”

More than 10,000 motorists and 600 truckers travel on this route each day. Trucks with five or more axles make up 44 percent of the freight vehicles, which add to wear and tear on the roads.

“Well-maintained roads are crucial in agricultural towns like Dixon,” said Caltrans District Director Tony Tavares. “Local families rely on rural highways to connect their communities and the economy depends on getting goods to market.”

The $1.8 million roadway project repaired SR-113 in Dixon from Hastings Island Road to Brown Road and from Midway Road to Adams Street.
More information and updates on projects can be found at http://www.dot.ca.gov/d4/index.html or on Twitter via https://twitter.com/CaltransD4.

SB 1 provides an ongoing funding increase of approximately $1.8 billion annually for the maintenance and rehabilitation of the state highway system. SB 1 funds will enable Caltrans to fix more than 17,000 lane miles of pavement, 500 bridges and 55,000 culverts by 2027.

Caltrans is committed to conducting its business in a fully transparent manner and detailing its progress to the public.
