State Route 29-Napa River Bridge in Calistoga
New Southside Section of Bridge and Pedestrian View Area
Watch for Temporary Traffic Lane Alignment
May 2018

NAPA COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) recently switched traffic lanes onto the new southside section of the State Route 29 (SR-29) Napa River Bridge in Calistoga, opened a new pedestrian view area on the bridge and started construction of the new bridge’s northside section.
Motorists should drive with caution as traffic lanes on SR-29 are routed through a temporary alignment onto the southside section of the bridge.

Construction of the new SR-29 Napa River Bridge also known as the Lincoln Avenue Bridge started in July 2017.

The new SR-29 Napa River Bridge is being built in stages allowing motorists to travel on the bridge during construction. The new bridge replaces the old Napa River Bridge which is being replaced after its foundation was scoured due to constant river current.
The new bridge will include traffic lanes, pedestrian sidewalks and a new bridge belvedere which is a pedestrian pull-out with a view of the Napa River below.
Once construction is completed, traffic will be routed onto both sides of the new bridge.
Construction of the new SR-29 Napa River Bridge in Calistoga could be completed as early as winter 2018.
