FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SB-1 Funded Improvements Coming
I-80-Between Vallejo and Fairfield
Lane Striping/Painting Project
Starts Tuesday, May 29, 2018

SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will repaint and refresh highway lane lines on eastbound and westbound Interstate-80 (I-80) in Solano County.

The $3.4 million project is a Senate Bill (SB-1) funded project which enhances safety for motorists by applying new wet-night-visibility paint to the lanes.

The project also replaces the old standard 4-inch-wide traffic stripes with the new and brighter 6-inch-wide traffic stripes.
Work starts Tuesday, May 29 and will be completed by mid-August 2018. Work is each night Monday-Friday, except holidays, starting at 10:00 PM until 5:00 AM the following mornings.

During this first phase of work, crews will stripe traffic lanes on eastbound and westbound I-80 between Tennessee Street in Vallejo and Air Base Parkway in Fairfield.

A second phase will stripe I-80 in Vacaville.

Motorists may encounter various overnight lane closures when painting-striping crews are present. CHP will assist with directing motorists. Please #BeWorkZoneAlert
