FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

State Route 29-St. Helena and American Canyon
Lane Shifting and Shoulder Closures
Expect Delays-Two Consecutive Days
January 3 and January 4, 2018

NAPA COUNTY— The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will be striping traffic lanes on State Route 29 (SR-29) in St. Helena and American Canyon on two consecutive days.

The painting of traffic lanes is related to a sidewalk improvement project which added new curb ramps along SR-29 in both cities.

The work in both cities is scheduled January 3 and January 4, 2018 starting at 9:00 AM and will be completed by 4:00 PM each day. All work is weather permitting.

Northbound and Southbound SR-29 at Hunt Avenue in St. Helena
Caltrans will stripe northbound and southbound SR-29 near Hunt Avenue in St. Helena on January 3 and 4. To ensure public and worker safety, parking and some sidewalk and shoulder closures will be in effect. Crews will also shift lanes in both northbound and southbound directions. One traffic lane on northbound and southbound SR-29 will remain open.

Southbound SR-29 at Rio Del Mar in American Canyon
Caltrans will also stripe southbound SR-29 at Rio Del Mar in American Canyon on January 3 and 4. To ensure public and worker safety, the right turn pocket lane and the shoulder at the intersection of southbound SR-29 and Rio Del Mar will be temporarily closed. One lane of southbound SR-29 will remain open. Northbound SR-29 traffic lanes will remain open.

Motorists should expect delays, watch for flaggers, detour signs and allow for extra travel time.

Caltrans thanks you for your patience as we work to maintain California’s highways.
