Laurel Street Bridge at I-780-Vallejo
Additional Block of Laurel Street Closed 4 Days
Starts Thursday, December 7, 2017

SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will install drainage systems on and adjacent to the I-780 Laurel Street Bridge which will require a 4-day closure of an additional block of Laurel Street just north of the bridge.

The old Laurel Street Bridge was demolished in June 2017 and is currently being rebuilt above westbound and eastbound I-780 in Vallejo.

The new Laurel Street Bridge will be constructed to meet the latest seismic safety standards.
Construction of the new bridge will be completed as early as late December 2017.

Laurel Street CLOSED at Reis Avenue-4 Day Closure
To ensure worker and public safety, northbound and southbound Laurel Street will be closed at Reis Avenue for four consecutive days starting Thursday, December 7 at 8:00 AM until Sunday, December 10 at 10:00 AM. The closure is needed to complete drainage work.

Driveways Remain Open
Residents on Laurel Street and Reis Avenue will continue to have access to their driveways. Laurel Street remains closed over I-780. Local detours remain in effect.

Westbound I-780 enter at Cedar Street-Eastbound I-780 enter at Glen Cove

Motorists traveling from Benicia Road to the westbound I-780 entrance will be detoured from Benicia Road to southbound Cedar Street and enter westbound I-780 (towards Downtown Vallejo and I-80) from Cedar Street. Motorists on Benicia Road traveling to eastbound I-780 are advised to continue east on Benicia Road, southbound on Glen Cove Road and enter eastbound I-780 from Glen Cove Road.

Detour signs will be posted. Motorists should expect delays. All work is weather dependent.

Laurel Street Bridge Closure-Long-Term Closure
Laurel Street above I-780 will remain closed continuously until construction of the new bridge is completed. Local detours are in effect.
