Shoulder and Lane Closures During Landscape & Litter Effort

SOLANO COUNTY – Caltrans, the City of Vallejo and several other agencies are teaming up in a major landscaping and litter abatement effort on State Route 37 (SR-37) near the Walnut Avenue exit and at other multiple sites adjacent to SR-37 and on Mare Island in Vallejo.

The major maintenance started earlier this week and continues on Wednesday, September 13. Work starts at 8:00 AM and concludes at 3:00 PM. Work is weather permitting.

Crews from Caltrans and the City will trim-back overgrown trees, clear storm drains, weed, mow and clear-out trash and debris along SR-37 and at multiple sites on Mare Island.

This week’s work is part of an ongoing partnership among Caltrans, the City of Vallejo, and several agencies to beautify main entrances and thoroughfares in Vallejo through the “Vallejo Interagency Partnership” (VIP) program.

Although no highway closures are scheduled, motorists are advised to drive with caution on SR-37 near Walnut Avenue when lane and shoulder closures are in effect.
