Expect Delays

SOLANO and SACRAMENTO COUNTIES – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform mandatory inspections of the Rio Vista Bridge on State Route 12 (SR-12) between Solano and Sacramento Counties.

The one-day inspections are scheduled starting Wednesday, August 23 beginning at 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM that same day. All work is weather permitting.
The inspections are part of Caltrans’ preventive maintenance plan on the bridge.

During the inspections, motorists traveling across the Rio Vista Bridge on SR-12 may experience delays as crews conduct inspections with intermittent one-way traffic controls.

During one-way traffic controls, crews will alternate traffic in the eastbound and westbound directions on the bridge. This will allow one lane on the bridge to remain open during the inspections.

For boat and ship traffic, the bridge will operate normally for any vessels passing underneath it along the Sacramento River.
