FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

US 101 in Burlingame PG & E Permit Work
Starting tomorrow Saturday June 11 6:00AM to 7:00AM Sunday June 12 6:00AM

Burlingame, San Mateo County – Pacific Gas & Electric will use helicopters to perform utility work at three existing PG & E towers above and near Highway 101 between Anza Boulevard and Broadway, and the Southbound 101 overcrossing ramps on U.S. 101 in the north and southbound directions this weekend, beginning tomorrow, Saturday, June 11 and Sunday June 12.

PG & E crews will install safety brackets over Highway 101 and replace cable lines on transmission towers that run along and over a stretch of Highway 101. Additionally, as part of this work PG & E will be stringing new overhead transmission lines over the freeway between the new and the existing transmission towers on the east side of the freeway.

In order to perform this work safely and quickly, the California Highway Patrol will perform three 10 minute traffic breaks. Two 10-minute traffic breaks will take place on Saturday, June 11, between 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM. Another 10 minute traffic break will take place on Sunday, June 12, at 7:00 AM. The Highway 101 northbound Broadway on-ramp and the southbound off-ramp will be closed as well during these traffic breaks. Part of the work will be conducted within the 101 Broadway Interchange Replacement project

Motorists should anticipate traffic delays and use alternate routes. CHP and traffic signage will direct travelers to alternate routes. This activity will be visible to drivers traveling along Highway 101.
