Updates Starting Sunday, April 24

NAPA COUNTY – Caltrans and its local stakeholders are continuing construction of the State Route 29 (SR-29) Channelization Project in and near St. Helena in Napa County.

Below is the week-ahead project update.

WEEK STARTING APRIL 24-April 30, 2016

Day Work
• Roadway excavation and compaction btwn Dowdell LN & Charter Oak Ave on northbound SR-29.
• Storm drain construction between Stice Lane and Dowdell Lane on southbound SR-29.

Work is scheduled 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Wed through Fri. No daytime lane closures anticipated.

Night Work
• Temporary re-striping to shift northbound traffic to the center channelization lane. Re-striping is between Mee Lane to Charter Oak Avenue – Monday & Tuesday nights
• Installation of temporary railing (k-rail) between Dowdell LN and Charter Oak AV – Wed night

Work is scheduled 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM, Monday evening through Thursday morning. One-way traffic control will in effect. Delays of up to 5 minutes are expected. Left-turn movements from southbound 29 onto Mills Lane may be limited.

Although the lane shift will primarily be between Dowdell Lane and Charter Oak for the k-rail placement, the temporary striping will encompass the entire length of the project. This is necessary as crews will need to transition to two lanes and other temporary striping work.
