Temporary Lane Switches on Green Valley Road
SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) and its project partner the Solano Transportation Authority (STA) are nearing completion of construction of the new Green Valley Road overcrossing across Interstate-80 (I-80) in Solano County. The work is part of the Interstate-80/Interstate-680/State Route-12 (I-80/I-680/SR-12) Interchange Project.
Spring 2016-Project Updates
People traveling and living near the construction zone may encounter temporary lane switches, intermittent lane closures, and see increased heavy construction equipment as crews begin work to eventually switch all traffic onto the new Green Valley Road/I-80 overcrossing.
Temporary Travel Lanes-Northbound Green Valley Road
Northbound traffic on the Green Valley Road/I-80 overcrossing will be temporarily routed onto both lanes of the new Green Valley Road/I-80 overcrossing while crews construct new approach lanes just north and south of the new overcrossing. Motorists are advised to drive with caution.
Temporary Travel Lanes-Southbound Green Valley Road
Southbound traffic on the Green Valley Road/I-80 overcrossing will be temporarily routed onto the two existing lanes on the existing overcrossing. The temporary configuration will allow crews to continue work on the new approach lanes while preparing for demolition of the existing overcrossing. All work is weather permitting.
Temporary Alignments-In Effect-Tentatively April 2016
The temporary traffic configurations are tentatively scheduled to begin in spring 2016 through fall 2016.Caltrans will make an announcement once additional details are available.
Construction of Package 1 of the 80/680/12 Interchange Project started in spring 2014. The new Green Valley Road/I-80 overcrossing may be open to traffic in both directions as early as fall 2016.
Stationary mounted signs and changeable message signs (CMS) will be strategically placed to provide information regarding closures and detours.
