FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

State Route-160 Antioch Bridge-Alternating Lane Closures
Routine Inspections-Start March 9

CONTRA COSTA and SACRAMENTO COUNTIES – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has scheduled routine inspections of the State Route-160 (SR-160) Antioch Bridge in Contra Costa and Sacramento Counties during the weeks of March 9 and March 16.

Crews will perform routine inspections of the bridge deck and bridge girders. Vessels will pass normally beneath the bridge on the San Joaquin River.

Four consecutive weekdays of work start Monday, March 9 and will be completed by Thursday, March 12. Four additional consecutive weekdays of work are also scheduled Monday, March 16 until Thursday, March 19. Work is scheduled beginning at 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM each day.

Alternating Lane Closures
To ensure public and worker safety during the inspections, one-way traffic controls will be in effect on the (SR-160) Antioch Bridge. Crews will alternate lane closures in both northbound and southbound directions. This will allow one traffic lane on the bridge to remain open during the inspections.

Flaggers on-foot and a pilot car will help direct traffic. Motorists should expect delays and allow for extra travel time. All work is weather permitting.

Please drive cautiously through the construction zone and leave a safe traveling distance between your vehicle and the vehicle ahead of you. Caltrans appreciates your patience as we work to maintain California’s bridges.
