U.S. 101 Old Redwood Highway Interchange Improvement Project
Full Closure of Southbound U.S.101 Friday Night, April 11, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Petaluma, Sonoma County –Caltrans has scheduled lane and ramp closures for the Old Redwood Highway Interchange Improvement project in Petaluma.

Bridge Demolition, Friday Night / Saturday Morning, April 11 - 12
There will be a full closure of southbound U.S. 101 at the Old Redwood Highway Interchange on Friday night / Saturday morning, April 11 - 12, for bridge demolition.

  • Southbound U.S. 101 will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday night, April 11, until 6 a.m., Saturday morning, April 12.  Detour: Exit at Petaluma Boulevard N, turn right and continue to E. Washington Street. Turn left on E. Washington Street and continue to southbound U.S. 101.

  • The southbound loop on-ramp will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday night, April 11, until 6 a.m. Saturday morning, April 12.

  • Two lanes of northbound U.S. 101 will be closed at the Old Redwood Highway Interchange from 11 p.m. Friday night, April 11, until 6 a.m. Saturday morning, April 12.  Note: One lane of northbound U.S. 101 and both the northbound on-ramp and off-ramp at Old Redwood Highway will remain open during this work.

  • There will also be various lane closures of northbound and southbound U.S. 101 prior to and following the full closure of southbound U.S. 101.

  • Demolition is a noisy activity, and residents and businesses may hear additional noise during this activity.


This work is weather dependent. If it is delayed due to weather conditions, it will be rescheduled for a later time. Please drive cautiously through the construction zone and leave a safe traveling distance between your vehicle and the vehicle ahead of you.  Please remember to Slow for the Cone Zone. The California Highway Patrol will be on site during these closures.
