FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Highway 12-Rio Vista Bridge
One-Way Traffic Controls Scheduled Starting October 15th
SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will conduct its annual structure inspection of the Rio Vista Bridge along Highway 12 starting Tuesday, October 15th.  The Rio Vista Bridge spans the Sacramento River between Sacramento and Solano Counties.
For worker and public safety during the inspection, one-way traffic controls on the bridge are scheduled Tuesday, October 15th, Wednesday, October 16th, and Thursday, October 17th.
During one-way traffic controls, one lane of traffic will remain open at all times, with crews alternating traffic in the westbound and eastbound directions. Bridge traffic will be reduced to one-lane starting each day at 9:30 a.m. until approximately 2:30 p.m. each day.
Flaggers will help direct traffic. Motorists should expect delays and allow for extra travel time. Work is weather permitting.
For boat and ship traffic, the bridge will operate normally for any vessels passing underneath it along the Sacramento River.
Caltrans appreciates your patience as we work to maintain our highways and bridges.
